Lead AI Solution Architect
We are working with a central government client to find a Lead AI Solution Architect who can design and deliver scalable, ethical AI solutions that align with strategic goals and national standards. This is a deeply technical role for someone who enjoys being a doer, not just a director.What You'll Be Doing:
- Designing enterprise-level AI architectures and frameworks
- Developing and implementing Target Operating Models (TOMs) for AI adoption
- Defining architectural guardrails and technical standards
- Leading the hands-on delivery of AI solutions in regulated environments
- Collaborating with senior stakeholders to align AI strategy with business goals
- Contributing to reusable architecture patterns and internal capability upliftWhat We're Looking For:
- Direct authorship of solution design documentation - Candidates must have personally written and structured architectural designs.
- Development of architectural guardrails - Demonstrated ability to define and implement technical boundaries and standards.
- Hands-on delivery of solutions - Proven track record of being a practitioner actively involved in building and deploying solutions.
- Individual contribution over managerial oversight - Preference for candidates who have executed work themselves rather than solely directing teams.
- Ability to operate as a "doer" - Must be capable of rolling up sleeves and contributing technically, not just coordinating efforts.Tech Stack & Experience:
- AWS Bedrock, Azure AI Foundry, Google Vertex, open-source AI/ML stacks
- Deep understanding of the AI/ML lifecycle, model governance, and ethical AI
- Familiarity with risk-based AI assurance, DPIAs, data protection, and transparency

In return, you will receive the opportunity to support a major government department. The possibility to work on a long-term contract (6 months) paying up to £750p/day (in scope of IR35). This role is a hybrid role and can be based out of any of the main hubs: York, Newcastle, Warrington, Bristol, Birmingham, London, Peterborough, Reading and Weybridge
