Operational Technology OT Architect/SME
Hiring: Operational Technology (OT) Engineers / Architects / SMEs? Location: Edinburgh - Home based with occasional office days? Duration: Initial 9 months (part of a 2-5 year programme)?? Contract Type: Inside IR35 (FTE or Umbrella Company only - no PSC) Your new role We are seeking experienced Operational Technology (OT) Engineers, Architects, and Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to play a pivotal role in enhancing and safeguarding business-critical operational applications.This is a high-impact opportunity to work across Platinum, Gold, and Silver level OT Applications in collaboration with SSE IT, Neos Networks, and key suppliers.What you'll need to succeed
- OT Application Performance Improvement
- Drive continual performance enhancement of operational applications.
- Develop a Strategic Asset Management Plan for OT applications and infrastructure.
- Design Authority for OT Infrastructure
- Authorise and oversee developments in OT infrastructure.
- Collaborate with suppliers and stakeholders to test and approve architectural changes.
- Operational Application Upgrades
- Lead Operational Acceptance Testing and approve handover into support.
- Make critical go/no-go decisions for upgrades.
- Team Development
- Mentor and upskill RTS Technical Engineers to deliver robust support and project services.
- Technical Expertise
- Maintain and set standards for OT applications such as PowerOn, PI, and ODMS.
- Contribute to technical forums, documentation, and standards development.
- Fault Analysis
- Investigate and resolve complex operational application issues.
- Ensure SLA compliance with internal and external service providers.
Skills & Experience We're looking for professionals with hands-on expertise in:
- GE Vernova PowerOn - highly desirable / essential
- ADMS systems
- SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition)
- AVEVA PI
- ODMS (Operational Data Management Systems)
