Pharmaceutical Information Scientist

Your new role This is initially a 12-month contract, that may extend, working directly with a senior team.You'll be supporting the company's R&D efforts and liaising with stakeholders across the business.

  • Build and optimise workflows for literature mining, summarisation and trend analysis using AI, NLP and advanced analytics tools.
  • Develop and maintain external information endpoints aligned with FAIR data principles to support scientific interoperability.
  • Apply machine learning and large language models to improve information retrieval, automate content classification and enhance knowledge discovery.
  • Contribute to the design and evaluation of innovative AI-driven solutions for scientific content analysis.
  • Support R&D teams by applying expertise in metadata, ontologies, data lifecycle management and scientific knowledge systems.
  • Act as a subject matter expert for AI-enabled content analytics, partnering with cross-functional stakeholders across the organisation.
  • Ensure compliance with copyright, licensing and data governance standards, maintaining robust data integrity and audit trails.
  • Deliver training, guidance and best-practice frameworks to upskill colleagues in AI, NLP and digital content analytics.

  • Experience or strong interest in NLP, LLMs and AI applications such as transformers, RAG or prompt engineering, preferably gained within the pharmaceutical, biotech, medtech or biomedical space
  • Familiarity with Python and modern AI frameworks for text analytics, alongside data visualisation and scientific communication tools.
  • Understanding of knowledge graphs, ontology management and FAIR data principles.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively across multidisciplinary teams, with strong communication and stakeholder-engagement skills.
  • Proven project management capability and adaptability in fast-evolving technological environments.
  • A passion for exploring new digital tools, driving innovation and enabling others through training and knowledge sharing.
