Programme Manager/Programme Lead
We have an exiting contract job opportunity for Programme Lead & Programme Manager for one of our leading client.
Role details:
Contract - initially 6 months (potential extention)
Location - Heathrow (3 days per week to office & rest days from home)
Rate - inside IR35
Overview
Our client is seeking an experienced Programme Lead & Programme Manager to spearhead and take accountability for the ITT (I Transform Transformation) initiative. This strategic programme aims to revolutionise our Transform team through the systematic application of artificial intelligence and automation technologies. The successful candidate will lead the design and implementation of a future state operating model that materially increases cost-effectiveness across all Transform directorates, and will ensure Transform exemplifies an "AI First" culture and mindset.The role will work very closely with the established Transform AI Team who will provide critical capabilities covering analysis and automation / AI delivery.
Key Accountabilities
- Strategic Leadership & Governance
- Define and maintain the programme vision, objectives, and success metrics
- Establish governance structures and reporting mechanisms
- Develop and manage the programme roadmap, ensuring coordination across all Transform directorates
Operating Model Design
- Lead comprehensive analysis of current processes, roles, and "jobs to be done" across Transform
- [With the Transform AI Team] Design and validate the future state operating model incorporating AI and automation capabilities
- Create the associated organisation and role design and skills uplift initiative(s) to optimise human and AI collaboration and ensure colleagues have the required skills to enact and continuously improve the new operating model
AI & Automation Planning
- [With the Transform AI Team] Develop and prioritise the backlog of AI automations, and agents required for transformation
- [With the Transform AI Team] Identify any additional specialist AI tools and capabilities required
- Define clear requirements and benefits for each AI / automation initiative
Change Management & Implementation
- Design and execute comprehensive change management strategies to ensure adoption
- Lead stakeholder engagement across all levels of the organisation
- Develop and implement upskilling programmes in partnership with the Transform AI Team
- Create mechanisms to embed new ways of working and make changes "sticky"
Programme Manager
- Manage programme budget, timeline, and resources effectively
- Identify and mitigate risks, resolving issues that could impact programme success
- Coordinate multiple workstreams and ensure integrated delivery
- Track and report on benefits realisation and ROI
Key Skills & ExperienceEssential Experience
- Significant experience leading large-scale transformation programmes, preferably involving AI/automation and in FTSE100 or similar environments
- Proven track record of operating model transformation in complex organisations
- Demonstrable experience in workforce transformation and organisational design
- Strong background in change management with evidence of successful adoption of new technologies
- Experience working with AI and automation technologies in an enterprise context
Technical & Analytical Skills
- Deep understanding of process analysis, mapping, and optimisation methodologies
- Knowledge of AI capabilities, limitations, and implementation considerations
Leadership & Interpersonal Skills
- Exceptional stakeholder management skills with ability to influence at C-suite level
- Strong leadership presence with ability to inspire and motivate cross-functional teams
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Collaborative approach with proven ability to work effectively with technical and business teams
- Cultural sensitivity and experience working in international environments
Preferred Qualifications
- Professional certifications in programme management (MSP, PgMP) or change management
- Experience in aviation, transportation, or similar regulated industries
- Knowledge of lean, agile, or other continuous improvement methodologies
- Previous interim or consulting experience in similar transformation roles
