This is an excellent opportunity for a highly organised and detail-focused professional with substantial SIMS experience to play a key role in supporting the smooth running of the school's data and information systems.Working closely with the Senior Leadership Team, the successful candidate will become the school's lead SIMS specialist, ensuring data is managed accurately, securely and efficiently while supporting attendance, reporting, statutory returns and wider school operations.Key Responsibilities

  • Act as the school's lead SIMS administrator and expert user.
  • Maintain the accuracy, integrity and security of all data held within SIMS.
  • Manage pupil admissions, leavers, transfers and record updates.
  • Configure and maintain SIMS modules including Attendance, Assessment, Reporting, Admissions and Personnel.
  • Produce regular and ad-hoc reports for senior leaders and school stakeholders.
  • Support staff with data extraction, reporting and SIMS-related queries.
  • Administer and monitor attendance processes and reporting.
  • Assist with assessment, achievement, behaviour and pastoral data management.
  • Lead on school census submissions and statutory returns.
  • Ensure compliance with Department for Education requirements and deadlines.
  • Provide SIMS training and first-line support to colleagues.
  • Work alongside IT teams and external suppliers to support system development and integrations.
  • Identify opportunities to improve processes and maximise the effectiveness of SIMS across the school.

About YouTo be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Significant experience administering SIMS within a school environment.
  • Strong working knowledge of Attendance, Admissions, Assessment, Reporting and Census functions.
  • Experience completing statutory school returns.
  • Excellent data management and reporting skills.
  • Advanced IT skills, including Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Outstanding attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy.
  • The ability to prioritise workloads and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • A proactive, professional and solutions-focused approach.

Desirable Experience

  • Experience of SIMS Next Gen.
  • Knowledge of Assessment Manager.
  • Timetabling experience.
  • Experience integrating SIMS with other school platforms.
  • Understanding of independent school compliance requirements.
