Senior IT Support Engineer Onsite - Hull 12 months Fixed Term Contract £28,163 to £31,067-24 days' holiday Our respected school trust client is seeking a Senior IT Engineer to lead and support IT operations across one of their schools. This is a pivotal role for an experienced and motivated IT professional who thrives in a dynamic educational environment and is passionate about supporting both staff and students.What you will be doing

  • To promote and safeguard the welfare of children and young people.
  • To act as site lead at one of the secondary phase schools across the Trust, managing the day-to-day tasks of the onsite IT Support Engineers, ensuring the smooth running of services to the school.
  • To manage effective communication with senior school staff on a day-to-day basis concerning all matters IT and escalating as appropriate.
  • To work alongside the IT Operations Manager and IT Technical Manager to troubleshoot and provide advanced technical support to other IT colleagues.
  • To provide first-line/second-line helpdesk support to pupils and staff for hardware, software, audio-visual, photocopiers and telephone equipment. To escalate technical issues that the first-line team cannot resolve.
  • To manage own priorities, workload and work of others through the allocation of calls via the helpdesk..
  • Maintaining documentation on IT hardware, software and audiovisual equipment.
  • To provide general technical support or training to teaching/non-teaching staff and students.

What you will need

  • GCSE level at grade C or above in English and Maths (or equivalent)
  • Microsoft Certification
  • NVQ Level 4 in IT or a related subject
  • 2 years' experience using an IT helpdesk resolving IT technical issues
  • Experience working across multiple establishments with varied IT equipment
  • Experience with Microsoft and Google applications
  • Ability to form and maintain appropriate relationships and personal boundaries with children and young people
  • Ability to support and advise users on a wide range of ICT hardware, software, and related equipment
  • Ability to diagnose and rectify basic networking faults and diagnose PC hardware configuration faults
  • Knowledge and commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people
  • Willingness to undertake relevant training as needed
