Senior Systems Engineer

Job Overview: An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Systems Engineer to join a highly skilled Systems Team supporting the development of complex software-enabled systems. You will play a key role in requirements management, system design, verification, validation and acceptance activities, whilst contributing to safety, security, human factors, performance, availability and reliability considerations across the full engineering lifecycle.Location: New Malden, UK Work Mode: Hybrid, 3-4 days per week onsite Pay Rate: £50.00 per hour PAYE (Inside IR35)Contract Length: 12 Months Start Date: ASAP Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain the requirements database, including associated contractual requirements and acceptance criteria.
  • Lead testing, verification and acceptance activities for both hardware and software releases.
  • Elicit, analyse and agree system requirements, assessing changes in capability against established design baselines.
  • Develop design specifications and undertake system design activities in accordance with technical and quality standards.
  • Develop, maintain and improve engineering processes and procedures in response to technical developments and operational requirements.
  • Coordinate and conduct technical analyses, investigations and evaluations, assessing technical options and producing reports and recommendations.
  • Review and agree external interface documentation and manage interface baselines.
  • Lead wider systems engineering activities including performance testing, human factors analysis, safety analysis, information assurance and security considerations.
  • Support the delivery of improvements to system capability through effective systems engineering practices.
  • Provide technical leadership to engineers involved in system design activities.
  • Mentor team members and support their technical development where required.

Key Requirements:

  • Experience working with software systems and software-enabled products.
  • Experience developing and enhancing software products based on business requirements.
  • Exposure to regulatory and statutory requirements relating to software products and an understanding of associated liabilities.
  • Proven experience across multiple systems engineering disciplines including Requirements Analysis, System Design, Human Factors, Performance Analysis, System Acceptance Management, Safety and Security.
  • Knowledge of safety engineering techniques such as Functional Failure Analysis and Fault Tree Analysis.
  • Experience working within large, complex multi-project engineering environments.
  • Experience delivering systems to challenging deadlines within fast-paced environments.
  • Strong understanding of requirements management, system design, acceptance management and verification activities.
  • Ability to undertake technical investigations, assess technical options and provide engineering recommendations.
  • Strong communication, stakeholder management and technical reporting skills.
