Software Developer

This is an exciting opportunity to work across a diverse technology landscape, supporting and enhancing business-critical applications while helping to deliver innovative, cloud-based solutions.You'll play a key role in developing, maintaining and improving a portfolio of applications and services used by both internal stakeholders and external clients. Working with modern Microsoft technologies, you'll contribute to projects spanning Azure cloud platforms, on-premise systems, APIs, integrations and AI-assisted development tools.This role offers the chance to collaborate with Product Managers, DevOps Engineers, QA Specialists and Business Stakeholders in an environment focused on continuous improvement, innovation and high engineering standards.
Your new role Design, develop, test and support software solutions using C# and .NETBuild and enhance applications across Microsoft Azure and on-premise environmentsDevelop and maintain APIs, integrations and supporting servicesTroubleshoot and resolve application defects and production issuesEnsure solutions are secure, scalable, maintainable and highly availableParticipate in code reviews and contribute to engineering best practicesProduce technical documentation, testing artefacts and deployment proceduresWork closely with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality softwareMonitor and improve system performance, resilience and reliabilityUtilise AI-assisted development tools to enhance coding, testing, debugging and documentation activitiesReview and validate AI-generated outputs to ensure quality, security and compliance standards are met What you'll need to succeed Commercial experience developing applications using C# and .NETExperience maintaining and enhancing business-critical applicationsStrong understanding of software engineering principles, object-oriented design and testing practicesExperience with SQL and relational databasesKnowledge of API development and integration patternsFamiliarity with Microsoft Azure and a desire to further develop cloud expertiseExperience with Git, Azure DevOps or similar source control toolsExposure to AI-assisted development toolsStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsExcellent communication skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholdersAbility to manage priorities and deliver high-quality solutionsDesirable SkillsExperience developing solutions in Microsoft AzureKnowledge of Azure App Services, Azure Functions, Azure SQL and Service BusExperience modernising legacy or on-premise applicationsUnderstanding of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practicesExperience with Docker and containerisation technologiesKnowledge of secure coding practicesExperience working within Agile delivery teamsDegree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related discipline What you'll get in return c£50,000 plus benefits What you need to do now If you're interested in this role, click 'apply now' to forward an up-to-date copy of your CV, or call us now.If this job isn't quite right for you, but you are looking for a new position, please contact us for a confidential discussion about your career.
