Technical Lead - Applications Engineering AWS
Prestigious opportunity for a Technical Lead - Applications Engineering (AWS) for a pioneering technology team within a Global Financial Services giant. As the technical lead, you will be driving the direction, evaluation, selection, configuration, implementation and integration of new and existing tools and technologies. Following a period of significant expansion, we welcome you to join our success story as we grow our Manchester team. Our Technical Lead for Application Engineering (AWS) will be responsible for:-
- Providing expert level IT technical lead services and direction for critical software, middleware, or hardware projects on multiple platforms.
- Providing technical expertise and completing complex development, design, implementation, architecture design specification, and maintenance activities.
- Ensuring the viability of IT deliverables.
- Communicating with key stakeholders on project issues and implications, evaluating the impact of change requests on technologies.
- Reviewing and approving documentation and diagrams created by IT team members.
- Identifying opportunities for continuous quality improvement of technical standards, methodologies, and technologies.
- Participating in design, code, and test inspections throughout the product life cycle to identify issues.
- Presenting technical status and issues at milestone reviews.
- Thoroughly understanding Information Security policies and procedures, and verifying that deliverables meet requirements.
- Participating in special projects, coaching and mentoring when required
If you possess a combination of some of the following skills, then LETS TALK!
- Proven track record of technical leadership, ideally within Financial Services, Contact Centre solutions or AI.
- Expertise in AWS cloud infrastructure (EC2, Lambda, VPC, IAM, CloudWatch, Secrets Manager, S3), JavaScript and Security integrations.
- Experience with AWS,?API design, and automated testing frameworks.
- Knowledge of GitHub source control and GitHub Actions (CI/CD pipelines); for build, test and deploy automation.
- Experience of working with Third Party SaaS implementations.
- Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (CloudFormation).
- Strong understanding of software design principles and modern SDLC practices.
- Strong background in Agile Methodology.
- Excellent collaboration and communication skills, especially in cross-functional settings.
