Senior Business Analyst

We are working with a global financial institution to recruit a Senior Business Analyst to join a high-performing Regulatory Operations team. This role is ideal for someone with strong experience in regulatory reporting, data analysis, and exception management within financial services. You'll play a key role in ensuring the accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of MiFIR trade and transaction reporting across multiple jurisdictions.
Key Responsibilities

• Monitor and analyse trade and transaction reporting exceptions submitted to National Competent Authorities (e.g. FCA, CBI, BaFin).
• Drive implementation and testing of controls to ensure compliance with MiFIR/D reporting obligations.
• Collaborate with Operations, Technology, Compliance, and Audit to investigate and remediate reporting issues.
• Support UAT for system enhancements and regulatory remediation tasks.
• Partner with Change Management and QA teams to ensure robust issue documentation and resolution.
• Provide data-driven insights using tools like SQL and Excel to identify trends and risks.
• Maintain strong governance and control standards across reporting processes.

Essential Criteria

• Proven experience in regulatory reporting, risk and control, or data analysis within financial services.
• Strong understanding of exception-based controls and compliance frameworks.
• Proficiency in Excel and SQL; experience with JIRA is a plus.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work cross-functionally.
• High attention to detail and a proactive, solutions-focused mindset.

This role will require you to work 3 days per week in the Belfast office so candidates within Northern Ireland will be given preference and we would not consider someone relocating for this role.
