Technical Agile Business Analyst/ Product Engineer

An opportunity has arisen to join a company that build platforms for mental health professionals and gives employers clear insights into engagement and outcomes. They are looking to expand globally and supporting more time zones and languages. They partner closely with an engineering partner and are now looking for a Technical Business Analyst/ Product Engineer to join the organisation as they part of their growth plans.
Your new role
They are looking to bring in a Technical BA/ Product Engineer to help them to provide the bridge between product strategy and technical execution, ensuring clear requirements, crisp acceptance criteria and zero ambiguity in hand-offs. The Technical BA/ Product Engineer will also help to reduce dependency risk by capturing and sharing system knowledge as the organisation migrate and scale.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Translate goals and discovery outcomes into specs, user stories, acceptance criteria and test plans
- Own the backlog for one or more product areas, driving grooming, sprint planning and readiness for the engineering partner
- Creat high-quality documentation for flows, edge cases and integration points, including runbooks for incidents and support
- Partner with the engineering partner to remove blockers, align on scope and ensure delivery quality across time zones
- Support UAT and QA by defining test scenarios, validating against acceptance criteria and signing off releases
- Surface trade-offs and risks early, proposing options that balance user value, effort and technical constraints
- Improve ways of working with lightweight templates, checklists and post-release reviews
- Contribute to migration planning by mapping legacy behaviours to new platform capabilities and capturing decisions
What you'll need to succeed
- Experience in a product engineering or technical BA role in a software product company
- Strong grasp of modern product delivery practices, including agile ceremonies and backlog management
- Excellent written specs and structured documentation that engineers and QA can act on
- Comfortable reading code at a basic level
- Ability to query data and write simple SQL for validation and analysis
- Experience working with offshore engineering partners
- Proficient with tools such as JIRA, Confluence, Figma and an API documentation platform
Nice to have
- Exposure to observability and support workflows, for example Grafana or similar
- Experience in UX or service design research and translating insights into requirements
- Familiarity with cloud platforms and CI or CD concepts
- Background in healthtech, B2B SaaS or compliance heavy domain
