Business Analyst

About the role

We’re seeking a Business Analyst for our airline client who is enhancing its cyber capabilities to support delivery of a key cybersecurity programme focused on securing and modernising the application estate. This role will play a vital part in helping the Identity and Authentication team drive change across hundreds of applications, ensuring alignment with modern security practices, including Microsoft Entra ID and SailPoint, Microsoft Sentinel, Privileged Access Management etc

Roles and Responsibilities:

To be successful in the role, the role holder will be expected to:

• Engage with stakeholders across the airline to gather, refine and prioritise business and technical requirements.
• Own and manage the project backlog in JIRA, working closely with the Identity and Authentication Lead and product stakeholders.
• Conduct workshops with application owners and technical teams to extract key information and drive decision-making.
• Translate business requirements into technical stories suitable for engineering teams.
• Support backlog refinement sessions and ensure stories are well defined and actionable.
• Help shape and structure delivery in a complex, ambiguous environment with evolving priorities.
• Collaborate closely with the Authentication product lead, application owners, engineers and other delivery teams..

• Able to use discretion effectively whilst at all times maintaining the required position of the Reward and People function, including delivering difficult messages as necessary.
• Good organisational skills

Experience/Skill

• Proven experience as a Business Analyst in large-scale enterprise environments.
• Strong working knowledge of JIRA and backlog management.
• Excellent stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to communicate at all levels.
• Experience working on cybersecurity projects – particularly around Identity and Access Management (IAM), PAM or Security Monitoring.
• Ability to translate non-technical input into structured technical requirements.
• Comfortable running workshops and engaging stakeholders in high-pressure environments.
• Someone who can navigate on their own with little guidance
• Comfortable working with senior stakeholders throughout the organisation
• Must be a good communicator when speaking and writing – requirements need to be super clear for everyone to understand

Desirable Experience

• Prior experience with SailPoint, Entra ID, Microsoft Sentinel or Privileged Access Management projects
• Previous involvement in airline, transport, or highly regulated sectors.
• Familiarity with Agile ways of working and backlog refinement ceremonies

• This is 6 months contract.(with potential for extension)
• A daily rate, in-scope IR35, of £550(PAYE) OR £600 (via a Hays Approved Umbrella Company).
• This role provides a hybrid working(1/2 days a week) access in Waterside, London
