With a new 10-year contract (TESC) with DIO commencing in 2024, they are at the forefront of delivering exceptional services. Their Information and Technology Department is crucial in supporting our mission by delivering, supporting, and maintaining all user-facing IT services, enabling their team to excel in their roles.
The Technology Enablement Team plays a crucial role in their organisation. They engage with various business units through product teams and project proposals, ensuring that technology changes and improvements are not only initiated but also meticulously scoped and delivered. This process is always aligned with our business priorities, objectives, and overarching IT strategy.
At the heart of this process is the Business Analyst. This pivotal role is responsible for bridging the gap between business needs and technology solutions. They lead the analysis and documentation of business requirements, define product visions, prioritise features, and ensure the successful delivery of high-quality products that meet both user needs and business objectives.
Your new role
I'm thrilled to present an exciting opportunity for a Business Analyst. In this position, you will conduct detailed analyses of business processes, systems, and user needs. You'll gather, document, and prioritise business requirements through interviews, workshops, and analysis of existing systems. Your work will result in comprehensive business requirement documentation and functional specifications, such as BRDs and User Stories.
Stakeholder management is another key aspect of this role. You'll collaborate with business stakeholders to understand their needs, objectives, and constraints. Facilitating effective communication between business users, IT teams, and other stakeholders will be crucial. You'll manage stakeholder expectations and ensure their needs are adequately addressed throughout the project lifecycle.
Continuous improvement is a core part of this role. You'll identify opportunities for process improvements and recommend solutions to enhance efficiency and effectiveness. Implementing best practices for business analysis and product management, you'll stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies to ensure the organisation remains competitive.
Mentoring and leadership are also vital components. You'll provide guidance and mentorship to business analysts and product owners, fostering a collaborative and innovative team environment. Leading by example, you'll demonstrate best practices in business analysis and product ownership.
The ideal candidate for this role will have a strong background in business analysis and product ownership, with a proven ability to bridge the gap between business needs and technology solutions. You'll be adept at stakeholder management, solution design, and continuous improvement, while also demonstrating leadership and mentorship skills. This role requires someone who is proactive, innovative, and committed to driving business success through effective technology enablement.
What you'll need to succeed

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential, as you'll be working closely with various stakeholders to ensure alignment with product goals and priorities. Your proficiency in Agile and Scrum methodologies will enable you to manage multiple priorities effectively and deliver high-quality results.
In addition to these core skills, a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Information Technology or Business Studies is highly desirable. Certifications in business analysis or agile methodologies, such as Certified ScrumMaster or Agile Project Management, will further enhance your candidacy.
Understanding Project Management Frameworks and toolsets like ADO and Miro is also beneficial. Your excellent Microsoft Office skills will support your day-to-day tasks, while experience with data analysis and business intelligence will help you make informed decisions.
