As an Employee Relations Specialist , you will play a pivotal role in shaping how complex and high‐risk employee relations matters are managed across a fast‐paced organisation. This role offers the opportunity to provide strategic ER expertise, influence senior stakeholders, and drive continuous improvement across the HR function. You’ll work hands‐on with complex cases while helping the business identify trends, mitigate risk, and improve employee outcomes.
Contract Details
- Contract length: 12 months
- Location: Newbury (hybrid – twice per week on-site)
- Rate: £425 per day (inside IR35)
Key Responsibilities
- Provide strategic advisory support on high‐risk and complex ER cases, including disability matters, legal involvement, complex exits, and significant organisational risk.
- Partner closely with HRBPs and line managers to guide them through the end‐to‐end management of high‐risk cases.
- Lead and coordinate all follow‐up actions after case conclusion, ensuring clarity of ownership and timely completion.
- Analyse ER Toolkit and People Analytics data to identify trends, highlight risks, and produce clear, digestible reports.
- Support change‐related activities such as TUPE when required.
- Build strong relationships quickly with stakeholders at all levels, offering credible, proactive guidance.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of ER processes, thresholds, and risk‐management frameworks.
Key Requirements
- Experience in Employee Relations or an HRBP role with significant ER accountability.
- Strong working understanding of UK employment law and its practical application.
- Proven ability to make balanced, commercial, people‐centred decisions in high‐pressure situations.
- Experience handling complex ER casework and influencing decision‐makers at senior levels.
- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and turn it into clear insights.
- Confident communicator with the ability to challenge constructively and manage difficult conversations.
