Health & Safety Consultant

Join a leading technology–communications team as a Health, Safety & Environment Advisor !

Play a key role in supporting one of the UK’s most recognised technology and communications organisations. As a Health, Safety & Environment Advisor , you will support Technology, Networks, Retail Property and Supplier teams to ensure safe operations, strong compliance and a proactive safety culture. You’ll work across a diverse portfolio, delivering improvements, conducting site engagements and helping shape a forward‐thinking approach to HS&E.

Contract Summary

  • Contract length: 6 months (with visibility to extend)
  • Day rate: £425 per day (inside IR35)
  • Location: Newbury (Hybrid – twice per week on-site)

Key Responsibilities

  • Support Technology, Networks, Fibre Services and Retail Property teams with day‐to‐day HS&E management.
  • Conduct site inspections, audits and assurance activities across Mobile, Fixed Networks, Retail properties and supplier operations.
  • Lead or support incident investigations and ensure completion within policy timeframes.
  • Provide specialist advice on work at height, RF hazards, streetworks, fire safety, hazardous substances and other HS&E technical risks.
  • Monitor and support compliance with SafeContractor and SCM supplier HS&E requirements.
  • Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders and suppliers, offering practical guidance and driving improvement initiatives.
  • Support continuous improvement of HS&E processes, documentation and ISO45001/14001 aligned management systems.

Key Requirements

  • Experience in H&S within retail, construction, property, telecoms or utilities environments.
  • NEBOSH Diploma (or equivalent) and ideally working toward or holding Chartered IOSH status.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence across different levels of site and operational teams.
  • Experience conducting audits, site inspections and incident investigations.
  • Working knowledge of UK HSE and EA legislation, plus practical experience applying it operationally.
  • CDM understanding beneficial; ability to work independently and proactively.
