About the role

As a Principal Engineer- MRO AI Solution, you will lead the design and build of robust engineering solutions and architectures to enable AI-driven solutions for client, ensuring frameworks can scale across all OpCos. This high-profile role demands consultancy-level technical depth, hands-on engineering, and strong delivery discipline.You will set technical direction, actively contribute code and architecture, and drive best practices across squads.

Shifts: Monday – Friday (37.5 hours per week)

Experience and Skills Required:

  • 10+ years in enterprise engineering, ideally in AI-driven environments.
  • Expertise in a range of programming languages, tools, and technologies.
  • Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS preferred).
  • Strong knowledge of API integration.
  • Track record of delivering high-value products in large, complex organizations, ideally FTSE100 Group enterprises or similar
  • Proven experience in developing, testing, and deploying data solutions into production environments, ensuring reliability, scalability, and maintainability beyond proof-of-concept or prototype stages.
  • Familiarity with airline or logistics data domains is a plus.
  • Significant experience in similar roles, with a proven ability to integrate quickly into new teams and deliver immediate value.
  • Initial co-location with BA teams in London is essential to ensure close collaboration. Candidates must also be prepared to travel internationally during later stages to facilitate group-wide deployment.

  • Experience in advisory or consulting roles for engineering projects.

  • Ability to implement standards and frameworks for scalable data solutions across multiple operating companies.

Responsibilities

  • Develop designs for all layers of the architecture
  • Write production-grade code and deliver Enterprise-ready solutions at pace
  • Design scalable solutions that meet business requirements and can be deployed across multiple OpCos
  • Collaborate with Product, Data Engineers, Analysts, Data Scientists, and Frontend/Visualisation engineers to ensure cohesive solutions across multiple technologies
  • Implement best practices for scalability, performance, and security in cloud environments
  • Support integration of MRO AI Solutions into BA operational workflows.
  • Design technical solutions that support multi-OpCo deployment, ensuring modularity and interoperability.
  • Translate operational needs into scalable AI solutions, working closely with business and product leaders.
