About the role

As a Senior IP Test Engineer, you will be responsible for validating and testing IP-based systems, ensuring high-quality, reliable, and scalable network solutions. You will design, execute, and automate test cases to verify IP functionalities across multiple protocols and environments. You will collaborate closely with development, QA, and infrastructure teams to identify defects early, troubleshoot complex issues, and drive continuous improvements in system performance and stability.

Shifts: Monday to Friday (37.5 hours)

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Conduct testing pre and post change to ensure it meets our network, design and customer requirements.
  • Co-ordinate & manage internal client and external Vendor teams. This may involve leading cross functional teams or projects
  • Analyse detailed technical documentation to follow Test Strategies and write associated Test Plans and Test Criteria’s that match the scope and level of risk agreed with our customers
  • Manage faults in accordance with the client Fault Management Process and measure and report performance against departmental KPI’s
  • Prioritise multiple Test activities and manage changing requirements whilst contributing to the development of the team
  • Ensure non-compliant TSA measures are stopped from going into the live network.
  • Support the IP Testbed by resolving IP issues encountered by other test teams.

Other stuff we’re potentially looking for:

  • In depth knowledge of IP Networking on Juniper, Cisco, Fortinet, Arista and F5 equipment IP protocols, LAN, WAN, MAN & SAN networks, MPLS/VPN & IP Security/VPN technologies. with excellent analytical / troubleshooting skills of complex problems encompassing an in depth knowledge of the client’s MPLS Network and Juniper IP equipment.
  • Expert in the use of IP test tools, with an in-depth knowledge of the measures applicable to a mobile operator adhering to the Telecom Security Act.
  • Able to work independently receiving minimal guidance & direction and it may be necessary to manage Upgrades which could involve testing outside normal hours, and act as a resource for colleagues directing their work if necessary.
  • Minimum of Cisco CCNP accredited or equivalent with good knowledge of GSM, GPRS, UMTS and LTE principles.
  • Skilled in the use of Spirent Test Centre, IXIA and Wireshark or similar IP packet generation and tracing tooling and an understanding of Testing Methodologies
