Test Engineer
About the role
As a Test Engineer, you will be a key contributor to the delivery and assurance of IMS voice services, playing a hands-on role in the testing, validation, and deployment of VoLTE and VoWiFi solutions within a complex telecom network environment. Working closely with vendors, project teams, and operations, you will plan, execute, and document comprehensive testing activities across lab and live networks, ensuring high-quality releases are delivered into production.

Shifts: Monday to Friday (37.5 hours)
Roles and Responsibilities:
- To witness or review Supplier Quality Acceptance Testing as appropriate. Providing support to review vendor Release Notes and MOP’s.
- Planning, executing and record Element Acceptance Testing within the test environment, or on a single element in the live network. Support production of Test Strategy, creating Test Cases exiting with TER.
- Providing support to arrange, execute and record the FOA (First Office Application) of a release into the live network. Co-ordinating with PM or operations as required to ensure CRQ and all in place to proceed.
- To perform build, support and maintenance activities on the clientTest-Bed Circuit Core model, including interfaces and data build.
- Responsible for ensuring faults are recorded via vendors fault tracking system, ensuring full investigation and managing through to resolution. This is to include faults raised in project testing phases as well as BAU issues and fault fixes.
- Attending, contributing and providing support to operational forums (ORM’s, PRM’s, TRM’s)
Other stuff we’re potentially looking for:
- Hands-on IMS Voice Testing experience, specifically VoLTE and VoWiFi, with a strong focus on test execution, validation, and delivery.
- Strong telecom technical foundation with an in-depth understanding of cellular networks and networking principles including IMS, 5G, 4G/LTE, UMTS, and GSM.
- Expertise in IMS architecture and protocols, with particular knowledge of MTAS, CSCF, PCRF, and associated services.
- Proven fault-finding and trace analysis skills, with the ability to independently investigate, diagnose, and resolve complex technical issues.
- Extensive experience with network, signalling, and protocol monitoring tools, such as Empirix, for troubleshooting and performance analysis.
- Strong analytical skills and sound practical judgment, capable of interpreting complex and conflicting technical requirements and driving issues through to resolution.
- Demonstrated experience producing high-quality technical documentation, including accurate, complete, and unambiguous requirements specifications aligned to business and vendor capabilities.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, able to provide clear progress updates to project teams and senior stakeholders.
- Experience managing vendor relationships, taking ownership of issues and ensuring timely resolution.
- Highly motivated team player with a proactive attitude, strong ownership mindset, and drive to succeed in a delivery-focused environment.
