Server Engineer (Linux) - Senior
Senior Server Engineer (Linux predominantly with Windows) x2 needed for an initial 6-month engagement with our Financial Services client based in Edinburgh.
Experience within large-scale IT/Infrastructure Transformations within corporate environments, ideally Financial Services is required.
The role requires candidates to engage via an FCSA accredited Umbrella company. If based locally, the client would require a weekly onsite presence in Edinburgh. For those not locally based, monthly travel to Edinburgh is required.
Key Skills & Experience required:
- Proven experience in supporting enterprise server infrastructure within corporate environments.
- Strong experience with Unix/Linux platforms, including Red Hat Enterprise Linux, AIX, Solaris, or similar enterprise operating systems.
- Expertise in Microsoft Windows Server administration and engineering.
- Broad technology knowledge
- Experience in IT related migrations, divestitures or separations is preferred but not essential
- Experience working with vulnerability management platforms such as Tenable, Qualys, Rapid7, or similar tools.
- Strong understanding of operating system security hardening and secure configuration practices.
- Experience with patch management, server life cycle management, and change management processes.
- Hands-on Scripting experience with PowerShell, Bash, Python, or equivalent automation technologies.
- Strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
