Finance Director - Private Equity / Professional Services

Finance Director

£125,000 - £150,000 + Benefits Gloucester

We're partnering with a private equity backed SaaS software business that develops technology for the service sector. Having established a strong position in its market, the business is now focused on the next phase of growth and is looking to appoint a commercially minded Finance Director to join the leadership team.

This is a broad role with real influence across the business. You'll work closely with the CEO and investors, providing financial leadership while helping shape commercial decisions, improve performance and support the delivery of the long-term growth strategy.

This is an opportunity for someone who enjoys operating beyond the numbers. You'll be involved in strategic decision making, challenge the status quo where appropriate and help build a finance function that can support the business as it continues to grow.

The role

You'll take ownership of the finance function while acting as a trusted adviser to the leadership team.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading, developing and mentoring the finance team
  • Working alongside the CEO and senior leadership team to support strategic and commercial decision making
  • Delivering accurate financial reporting, forecasting and budgeting
  • Improving financial processes, controls and reporting capability
  • Providing meaningful analysis and insight to support business performance
  • Working closely with private equity investors and external stakeholders
  • Supporting business planning, investment decisions and growth initiatives
  • Helping ensure the finance function evolves in line with the wider business
About you

We're looking for someone who combines strong technical credentials with commercial awareness.

You'll ideally have:

  • Previous experience within a private equity backed business
  • A background in software, SaaS or technology
  • Experience leading finance within a growing business where change and continuous improvement are part of the culture
  • The ability to build relationships and influence stakeholders across the business
  • Strong commercial judgement and a pragmatic approach to problem solving
  • ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualification

This is a great opportunity to join a successful business where finance is viewed as a key part of the leadership team rather than simply a reporting function. You'll have the opportunity to influence decisions, work alongside an experienced executive team and play a significant role in the next stage of the company's development.
