Microsoft 365 Support and Development Officer

Job summary

As a member of the Digital Transformation team, the individual in this role will be responsible for collecting requirements from stakeholders and aiding the organisation in reaching its strategic goals. This will involve following appropriate software development methodologies and industry best practices. The position will also involve personal development to offer technical assistance for products and creating fundamental solutions using Power Apps, PowerBI, Power Automate, and SharePoint. The role will provide Line Management for our M365 SharePoint Administrators.

Main duties of the job

  • To support the design, development, and administration of the HEIW M365 applications and services for which HEIW is responsible.
  • Take the lead in collecting solution requirements from stakeholders and documenting them in accordance with industry best practices and standards.
  • To provide advice, support, and training to the organisation on M365 solutions and applications.
  • Produce technical, operational and implementation documentation to assist in the deployment and ongoing maintenance of applications and systems.

Qualifications and Knowledge

Essential
  • Educated to Degree level in a relevant discipline or equivalent experience
  • Evidence of continuous professional development
  • Understanding of systems analysis and design methodologies
  • Working knowledge of current industry standards for best practice in systems and software development and version control
  • Project Management Qualification or equivalent experience
Desirable
  • Working knowledge of digital accessibility requirements

Experience

Essential
  • Experience in the Microsoft 365 platform and solutions on any of these areas: SharePoint Online, MS Forms, MS Teams, or MS Planner
  • Demonstratable experience in a Line Management or Supervisory role.
  • A willingness to develop technical skills for the Power Platform (PowerApps, Power Automate and Power BI).
  • Demonstratable proficiency in generating and overseeing documentation.
Desirable
  • Experience in using compassionate leadership to support the development of those you Line Manage
  • Background of working within the health or public sector.

Skills and Attributes

Essential
  • Able to learn new technologies and software systems quickly through both self-study and professional courses.
  • Developed communicative skills with the ability to build relationships at all levels.
  • Ability to analyse complex issues to identify solutions to underlying problems.
  • Ability to demonstrate tact and diplomacy when dealing with stakeholders who have competing requirements.
Desirable
  • Welsh Speaker (Level 1) or willingness to work towards.
