As Product Lead Hospital, you will own the vision, strategy, and delivery of the full portfolio of hospital digital products, including the Electronic Patient Record and other core systems supporting emergency, acute, medical, and surgical services.
Youll lead a team of Hospital Digital Leads, work closely with senior clinicians and operational leaders, and ensure digital solutions are clinically safe, operationally effective, and aligned with organisational priorities.

Job responsibilities
The Product Lead Hospital holds overall accountability for the vision, strategy, and delivery of the full portfolio of digital products supporting hospital services across Health and Care Jersey. This includes, but is not limited to, Emergency Care, High Acuity and Critical Care Services, Medical Specialties, Surgical Services, Endoscopy, Interventional Radiology, and supporting hospital-wide systems. The post holder is responsible for ensuring that hospital digital products are clinically safe, operationally effective, and strategically aligned with organisational priorities, enablingimprovements in patient safety, quality of care, service efficiency, and staff experience at scale.
Provide strategic leadership of the hospital digital product portfolio, ensuring all products collectively support safe, efficient, patient-centred care and organisational transformation.
Acts as the primary point of accountability for hospital digital outcomes, risks, and investment, working closely with the Head of Product Digital Health, clinical executives, operational leaders, suppliers, and governance bodies.
Own the end-to-end product lifecycle for hospital digital solutions, from discovery and prioritisation through design, delivery, optimisation, and benefits realisation.
Line manage, mentor, and develop the four Hospital Digital Leads, setting clear objectives, providing supervision and performance management, and supporting professional development and succession planning.
Provide indirect leadership and assurance to the wider hospital digital workforce, fostering a culture of collaboration, continuous improvement, inclusion, and accountability.
Ensure compliance with clinical safety standards (DCB0129 and DCB0160) across all hospital digital products, working closely with the Clinical Safety Officer and governance forums to manage risk.
Build and maintain strong strategic relationships with clinical directors, divisional leadership, nursing leadership, and operational managers, aligning digital delivery with service redesign and improvement priorities.
Oversee delivery and optimisation of the Electronic Patient Record (EPR), Patient Administration System (PAS), and other core hospital systems, ensuring reliability, usability, and integration.
Lead and contribute to business case development, procurement, and contract management, ensuring digital investments deliver value for money and align with long-term organisational strategy.
Monitor product adoption, usage, outcomes, and benefits realisation, providing structured reporting and assurance to the Head of Product, executive stakeholders, and governance boards.
Act as senior hospital digital representative and deputise for the Head of Product Digital Health in hospital-related digital matters when required.
Champion digital inclusion, staff engagement, and change adoption, ensuring digital solutions are accessible, usable, and embedded into day-to-day clinical practice.
The role provides senior leadership across hospital digital delivery, with direct line management responsibility for the four Hospital Digital Leads (Emergency, High Acuity, Medical, and Surgical Care) and indirect leadership of their associated delivery teams. The post holder sets direction, assures delivery, manages performance, and develops capability across the hospital digital function.
Person Specification
Experience
- Significant experience delivering digital solutions in hospital or secondary care settings
- Evidence of working for, at least 5 years, with multidisciplinary clinical and operational teams.
- Proven track record of line managing staff, including senior leads, with
- responsibility for appraisals, supervision, and development.
- Experience managing budgets and procurement processes.
Qualifications
- Registration with appropriate body (HCPC, NMC, GMC)
- Degree or equivalent experience in digital health, informatics, product management, or healthcare discipline.
- Registered clinical qualification
- Agile/Scrum or equivalent certification.
- Postgraduate qualification in health sciences, informatics, management,
- or healthcare leadership.
