Solaris / Unix EngineerContract | Inside IR35 | Hybrid (1-2 days per week)We are seeking an experienced Solaris / Unix Engineer to join a busy infrastructure team supporting a business-critical Solaris estate.This role will focus on the support, maintenance and ongoing improvement of Solaris platforms within a complex enterprise environment. We're looking for a hands-on infrastructure professional with strong Solaris administration skills and a solid background in Unix systems.Key ResponsibilitiesSupport and maintain Oracle Solaris environmentsPerform system administration, patching and upgradesMonitor system performance and troubleshoot complex technical issuesDevelop and maintain shell scripts to support automation and operational activitiesWork closely with wider infrastructure and virtualisation teamsSupport ongoing platform improvement and infrastructure projectsContribute to system documentation and operational proceduresEssential Skills & ExperienceStrong Oracle Solaris administration experienceSolid Unix systems administration backgroundShell scripting experience (KSH, KornShell, Bash or similar)Experience supporting enterprise-scale infrastructure environmentsStrong troubleshooting and problem-solving skillsExperience working within complex operational environmentsDesirable SkillsSolaris ZonesLDOMs (Logical Domains)SPARC hardwareLinux administrationStorage and networking technologiesInfrastructure migration projectsHigh availability and disaster recovery environmentsContract DetailsInitial contract with strong likelihood of extensionInside IR35Hybrid working (1-2 days per week onsite)Day rate circa £350-£400 per day, with some flexibility for the right individualIf you're an experienced Solaris / Unix Engineer looking for your next contract opportunity, we'd be keen to hear from you.TPBN1_UKTJ
