Senior Digital System Configuration Lead

Job summary

We are looking for an experienced Senior Digital Systems Configuration Lead to play a key role in shaping the future of healthcare technology across Hereford & Worcester.

You will lead the optimisation & ongoing development of our clinical systems, working with clinical, operational & digital teams to ensure our systems support safe, effective & efficient patient care while driving continuous improvement.

Our analogue-to-digital ambitions are significant, with programmes underway to optimise our EPRs, introduce a patient portal & improve access to the right data at the right time. You will help shape how solutions are designed, developed & used across the Trust.

Leading a skilled team of configuration specialists, you will influence & help deliver our large-scale digital transformation programmes that directly support frontline services & improve outcomes for patients.

This is a full-time position of 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, with a mixture of onsite & remote working.

Main duties of the job

As the Senior Digital Systems Configuration Lead, you will lead the Trust's clinical systems configuration function, overseeing the design, build, testing & implementation of configuration changes across a range of digital clinical systems.

Working closely with clinical, operational & digital teams, you will ensure systems remain aligned to service requirements, supporting the delivery of safe, effective & efficient patient care.

You will be responsible for managing & prioritising configuration activity, coordinating system upgrades & releases, maintaining standards & processes, monitoring supplier performance & ensuring changes are delivered in line with agreed timescales & governance requirements.

The role also includes line management of configuration specialists, supporting digital projects & programmes, identifying opportunities for service improvement & providing expert advice on system configuration, workflows, data standards & best practice.

As the Trust's configuration lead, you will provide expert leadership, guidance, development & support of digital clinical systems.

You will be responsible for establishing & maintaining standards, policies & processes, ensuring solutions are delivered in line with clinical safety, information governance & organisational requirements.

The successful candidate will have significant experience of configuring & supporting complex clinical systems, excellent stakeholder management skills & the ability to translate clinical & operational requirements into effective digital solutions.

You will be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, managing competing priorities & building strong relationships with clinical teams, operational services, suppliers & digital colleagues to deliver positive outcomes for patients and staff.

Person Specification

Experience

Essential
  • Extensive experience of the Support, Management, Configuration & Build of EPR systems.
  • Experience of direct line management and role management and skilled in delivering results through managing others.
  • Experience of operational service delivery to recognised and accredited principles within organisational settings.
  • Proven experience in the architecting of solutions in complex pan-organisation environments.
  • Proven track record of delivery as a technical specialist.
  • Experience of working with third party organisations and delivery of programmes and/or outsourcing.
  • Experience of use of determining roles and responsibilities in the delivery of EPR systems.

Qualifications

Essential
  • Educated to Masters level in relevant subject, or equivalent level of experience of working at a similar level in specialist or Health Informatics area.
  • Evidence of continued professional development.
