Senior Lead Digital Tester

Job summary

We are looking for an experienced Senior Lead Digital Tester to join our team & play a key role in ensuring the quality, reliability & safety of our digital clinical systems across Hereford & Worcester.

Working across our EPR systems & wider digital applications, you will lead testing activities that support system enhancements, upgrades, releases & digital transformation programmes. From developing test strategies & detailed test scripts to managing defects & supporting user acceptance testing, you will help ensure solutions are thoroughly tested before being deployed into live services.

Working closely with clinicians, digital specialists, suppliers & project teams, you will gain an understanding of key clinical workflows & help ensure technology continues to meet the needs of patients, services & the wider Trust.

This is a full-time position of 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, with a mixture of onsite & remote working.

Please note the Trust is unable to provide sponsorship to work for this role, to apply you must have current right to work in the UK status. Employment on a time limited visa doesnt guarantee sponsorship at point of expiry.

Main duties of the job

You will develop & execute test plans, test specifications & test scripts across a range of digital systems, ensuring solutions meet agreed requirements & standards.

Working with clinicians, suppliers & digital teams, you will analyse requirements, understand key workflows & ensure system changes, upgrades, releases & patches are thoroughly tested before deployment.

You will undertake functional, end-to-end, integration, interfacing & user acceptance testing, managing defects through to resolution & maintaining accurate testing documentation & reports.

You will review system interfaces & messaging flows, develop test data, support user acceptance testing & work with technical teams, suppliers & end users to validate fixes & ensure changes are delivered safely into live services.

The role includes supporting digital projects & programmes, maintaining regression test packs, monitoring test coverage & helping ensure the Trust's digital clinical systems remain safe, reliable & fit for purpose.

Job responsibilities

You will have experience of working within the NHS, with a strong understanding of healthcare systems, EPR applications & digital clinical solutions.

The successful candidate will have experience of creating complex test specifications & test scripts, producing formal test reports & managing defects through the full testing lifecycle, including retesting & validation of fixes.

You will possess strong analytical & investigative skills, with the ability to interpret complex technical & operational requirements, undertake SQL querying & assess the impact of system changes across clinical workflows & integrated systems.

You will be comfortable working in a fast-changing environment, building effective relationships with clinicians, suppliers & colleagues whilst maintaining high standards of quality, accuracy & attention to detail.

Experience

Essential
  • High-level experience of working in NHS or a healthcare company on healthcare systems.
  • Experience of working with EPR applications and modules.
  • Experience of creating complex test specs and test scripts.
  • Experience of writing formal test reports.
  • Experience of logging and retesting defects in a defect management system.
  • Experience with SQL querying.
  • Experience of working in fast changing technology
  • environment, with demonstrable experience of adapting to change and learning new technologies quickly.
Desirable
  • Experience of working with opensource test tools.

Qualifications

Essential
  • Educated to post graduate diploma level or equivalent or able to demonstrate substantial experience of performing to an equivalent level in a relevant environment.
  • Evidence of continued professional development
  • I understand that I will be asked to provide original certificates to verify my qualifications at point of offer.
Desirable
  • ISTQB/ISEB Foundation
  • Certificate in Software Testing
