Senior Employment Counsel

The role:

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Employment Lawyer (4–8 PQE) to join a high-performing in-house legal team. Based in London with a hybrid working model (one day per week in the office), this role will support a dynamic, international business on a wide range of employment law matters across multiple jurisdictions. The successful candidate will work closely with HR and senior stakeholders, providing strategic and commercially focused legal advice.

Key responsibilities:

  • Advise on a broad range of contentious and non-contentious employment law matters across the UK and international regions
  • Support HR and business leaders on employee relations issues, including disciplinaries, grievances, redundancies, and terminations
  • Provide guidance on employment aspects of corporate transactions, restructurings, and organisational change
  • Draft, review, and update employment contracts, policies, and procedures
  • Ensure compliance with applicable employment legislation and regulatory requirements across jurisdictions
  • Manage employment-related disputes and liaise with external counsel where necessary
  • Deliver training to internal stakeholders on employment law developments and best practices
  • Monitor legal and regulatory changes and assess their impact on the business

About you:

  • Qualified solicitor (England & Wales or equivalent) with 4–8 years’ PQE in employment law
  • Strong experience gained in private practice and/or in-house within a commercial environment
  • Excellent knowledge of UK employment law; international experience is advantageous
  • Commercially minded with the ability to balance legal risk and business objectives
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
  • Proactive, pragmatic, and able to work independently in a fast-paced environment
  • Interest in the technology or telecommunications sector is beneficial
