Senior legal Counsel - Privacy

The role:

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Legal Counsel – Privacy to join a high-impact legal team. Acting as the global privacy lead, this role will sit at the heart of the business, advising across product, engineering, commercial, and marketing teams while embedding privacy-by-design into the development and operation of games.

Key responsibilities:

  • Lead legal compliance across global data protection frameworks, advising on privacy obligations in all key jurisdictions
  • Provide strategic advice on in-game advertising and ad tech, including SDK integrations, behavioural profiling, and targeting models
  • Conduct and oversee DPIAs for new products, features, and data processing activities
  • Draft and maintain privacy notices, consent mechanisms, and internal data processing records
  • Manage data subject rights requests, regulatory enquiries, and supervisory authority interactions
  • Lead on data breach preparedness, investigations, and notification requirements
  • Review third-party integrations to ensure compliance with data minimisation and contractual standards
  • Develop and deliver practical privacy training and guidance across the business
  • Monitor regulatory developments and enforcement trends, ensuring early visibility of emerging risks
  • Maintain records of processing activities and oversee vendor data protection agreements
  • Manage external counsel and support engagement with regulators and industry bodies

About you:

  • Qualified lawyer with approximately 5–8 years’ PQE in data protection and privacy law
  • Strong working knowledge of GDPR, UK GDPR, and children’s privacy frameworks, including the UK Children’s Code
  • Familiarity with COPPA and its evolving requirements
  • Understanding of ad tech ecosystems and data flows within digital products
  • Experience advising across multiple jurisdictions in a fast-paced environment
  • Technically strong with the ability to identify and assess real compliance risks
  • Clear communicator, able to translate complex legal concepts into practical guidance
  • Collaborative and commercially minded, with a proactive and solutions-focused approach
