reg lawyer @ entertainment business

We’re supporting a high-growth European digital subscription business on the hire of a Legal Counsel – Consumer & Product.

This is a rare opportunity to join a scaling, tech-enabled platform operating across 20+ European markets, at a point where regulatory complexity and commercial ambition are both accelerating.

The business combines entrepreneurial energy with serious financial backing. It operates in a highly competitive consumer-facing space, investing heavily in technology, product optimisation and customer experience. Despite its scale, it retains a flat, collaborative culture where legal is embedded directly into strategic decision-making rather than operating as a back-office function.

This is not a business standing still. It is actively evolving its platform, expanding across markets and navigating increasingly sophisticated EU digital regulation — making this role both commercially visible and intellectually stimulating.

Here’s what you need to know ⬇️

💡 The Role

→ Reporting into the VP, Product & Consumer

→ Acting as number two within the consumer/product legal function

→ Advising on subscription journeys, cancellation mechanics & platform functionality

→ Supporting pricing strategy and consumer promotions compliance

→ Monitoring and advising on evolving EU consumer & digital regulation

→ Exposure to areas including the Digital Fairness Act and AI Act (experience here highly beneficial)

→ Strategic, advisory-heavy role with minimal contract drafting

This is about influencing product design and commercial decision-making across multiple jurisdictions — not reviewing standard terms.

💡 The Team

→ Established in-house legal function within a broader business-facing structure

→ Flat hierarchy with strong access to senior leadership

→ Legal viewed as a strategic partner to product and commercial teams

→ Opportunity to help further shape and mature the consumer regulatory function

💡 The Profile

→ 4–8 PQE (flexible for strong relevant experience)

→ Strong grounding in EU consumer legislation essential

→ Experience advising digital platforms or subscription-based models advantageous

→ Familiarity with the Digital Fairness Act and/or AI Act beneficial

→ Confident partnering with product, tech and commercial stakeholders

→ Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, international environment
