Digital First - Project Manager

Job summary

A rare opportunity has arisen for 2 x Digital First Project Managers (Band 7) to join the Digital First team. The roles will be required to project manage the successful implementation of a range of strategic digital projects across all relevant Business Units/Directorates in Hertfordshire Community NHS Trust (HCT).

We are looking for 2 individuals who are motivated, have excellent organisational skills with previous experience of project management & a track record of delivering successful projects. The candidates will be required to have a keen eye for detail, have the ability to work within a robust project methodology framework and monitor progress across all work streams associated with digital projects. The candidates will also be required to ensure that all project benefits are achieved, in conjunction with the Senior Project Manager/Project Sponsor/Subject Matter Expert (SME).

Main duties of the job

o Develop all project documentation including project definition and progress reports, covering financial, communication and risk management aspects of the project.

o Maintain and manage project plans for all allocated projects.

o Manage all project resources.

o Maintain effective project controls, including change, risk and issue management and communications for all associated work streams.

o Communicate project progress to the Corporate Programme Management Office and governance, in line with agreed project management processes.

o Ensure the identification, escalation and mitigation of project risks/issues as required.

o Ensure the project remains on track to deliver outcomes in line with time, cost and quality constraints.

o Establish and manage the co-ordination of specified project meetings.

o Attend Digital First team meetings, contributing to the overall development of HCT's strategic objectives.

o Actively influence, motivate, develop and support key stakeholders.

Person Specification

Qualifications and Training

Essential
  • Educated to Masters Degree level or equivalent knowledge and experience.
  • Project Management qualification e.g. PRINCE2 foundation or practitioner
Desirable
  • Coaching/mentoring training

Experience and Knowledge

Essential
  • Demonstrable track record in leading and delivering change projects.
  • Good understanding of project methodologies and change management approaches
Desirable
  • Extensive knowledge of SystmOne functionality with experience of continuous improvement of core service templates
  • Experience of leading complex projects within and NHS or public sector environment

Skills and Abilities

Essential
  • Ability to assimilate complex information sufficient to advise, support and disseminate
  • Advanced report and communication writing skills

Personal qualities

Essential
  • Ability to work on own initiative and organise own workload and to multitask
  • Discretion, integrity, trustworthiness and ability to maintain confidentiality at higher level
