About the role
We are looking for a Commercial Operations Manager to join Hexxcell in a highly cross-functional role spanning customer success, sales and marketing, and business operations.
This role is ideal for someone who combines strong commercial instincts with a solid technical engineering foundation. We are looking for a candidate who is comfortable engaging with customers and commercial activity, but who also has the technical credibility to understand industrial problems, communicate effectively with engineering stakeholders, and operate confidently in a complex technical environment.
You will help us strengthen the way we engage customers, support business development, coordinate commercial activity, and improve the internal processes that allow the company to scale effectively. You will work closely with leadership and across multiple teams, helping to turn opportunities into strong customer relationships and reliable commercial execution.

Key responsibilities
- Support and coordinate day-to-day commercial activities across sales, marketing, customer success, and operations
- Help manage the customer journey from lead generation and proposal development through onboarding, account support, and renewal
- Track commercial opportunities, follow-ups, proposals, and internal actions to ensure momentum and accountability
- Work with leadership to improve commercial reporting, pipeline visibility, and performance tracking
- Contribute to customer success activities, helping ensure customers receive a responsive and high-quality experience
- Support commercial outreach and marketing initiatives, including campaigns, events, content coordination, and lead follow-up
- Improve internal commercial processes, tools, and ways of working to support scale
- Prepare presentations, proposals, reports, and other client-facing and internal materials
- Maintain strong CRM discipline and help improve data quality, reporting, and workflow consistency
- Coordinate across teams to ensure commercial commitments are aligned with delivery
- Engage confidently with technically sophisticated customers and internal stakeholders
- Take ownership of cross-functional projects that support business growth and operational maturity
Candidate profile
We are looking for someone who combines strong organisational ability with commercial awareness, technical credibility, and a hands-on mindset.
Essential requirements
- A strong technical engineering background
- Degree-level training in engineering, ideally Chemical Engineering or Process Systems Engineering
- The ability to understand and discuss technical and operational challenges with credibility
- Experience in a commercial, customer success, operations, business development, account management, or similarly cross-functional role
- Strong project coordination and organisational skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication
- The ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a fast-moving environment
- A proactive and practical approach, with strong follow-through
- Good commercial judgement and an interest in helping grow a business
- Confidence working with customers as well as internal stakeholders
- Strong attention to detail and comfort working with systems, processes, and data
It would be beneficial if you also have
- Experience in a startup, scale-up, or technology-enabled B2B environment
- Familiarity with CRM and commercial reporting tools
- Exposure to both customer-facing and internal operational work
- Experience working with industrial, process, energy, or manufacturing businesses
- An interest in developing over time into customer success, commercial strategy, growth, business development, or general operations leadership
