Job Description: SAP Program Manager – Carve-Out Programs (10–12 Years Experience)
Role Overview
We are seeking a seasoned SAP Program Manager with 10–12 years of experience to lead complex SAP carve-out and divestiture programs. The role involves end-to-end ownership of SAP transformation initiatives where business units are separated, transitioned, or restructured, ensuring minimal disruption and seamless system disentanglement.
The ideal candidate will have expertise in SAP landscapes (ECC/S/4HANA), strong program governance capabilities, and deep experience in managing cross-functional and global stakeholders across IT, business, and third-party vendors.
Key Responsibilities
1. Program Leadership & Governance
Lead large-scale SAP carve-out programs from initiation to closure.
Define program roadmap, scope, milestones, and deliverables aligned with business objectives.
Establish governance structures, reporting cadence, and escalation mechanisms.
Drive program execution using structured methodologies (SAP Activate, Agile/Hybrid, Waterfall).
2. Carve-Out Strategy & Execution
Define and execute IT separation strategies, including:
Data separation and migration
System landscape split or replication
Business process realignment
Lead due diligence, Day 1 readiness, and Day 2 stabilization activities.
Coordinate TSA (Transition Services Agreement) planning and exit strategy.
3. SAP Solution Management
Oversee SAP modules such as SAP REFX, SAP BW/BO, SAP PI/PO, Concur etc., ensuring business continuity.
Collaborate with solution architects for landscape decisions:
System carve-out vs. new implementation
Selective data transition
Ensure integration continuity across SAP and non-SAP systems (interfaces, middleware, third-party tools).
4. Stakeholder & Client Management
Engage with senior business stakeholders (CXO level) and IT leadership.
Act as the primary point of contact for clients during program lifecycle.
Facilitate business workshops and steering committee meetings.
Manage communication across global teams and geographies
5. Delivery & Execution Management
Manage cross-functional teams including functional consultants, technical teams, and vendors.
Track progress, risks, issues, dependencies, and budgets.
Ensure adherence to timelines, quality standards, and compliance requirements.
Drive cutover planning, testing cycles (SIT/UAT), and go-live readiness.
6. Risk & Compliance Management
Identify risks related to data, security, compliance, and business disruption.
Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements (e.g., GDPR, SOX).
Implement mitigation strategies and contingency plans.
7. Financial & Commercial Management
Manage program budgets, forecasts, and financial tracking.
Drive cost optimization and value realization.
Support contract negotiations and vendor management.
8. Post-Go-Live Support
Oversee hypercare support and transition to steady-state operations.
Ensure knowledge transfer and documentation.
Drive continuous improvement post carve-out.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, IT, Business, or related field (MBA preferred).
10–12 years of experience in SAP programs with at least 3–5 years in a Program Manager role.
Proven experience in SAP carve-out, divestiture, or M&A programs.
Strong knowledge of SAP ECC and/or S/4HANA implementations.
Experience with data migration, system separation, and integration architecture.
Expertise in program management methodologies (PMP, PRINCE2, Agile).
Strong financial, risk, and vendor management skills.
