We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Technical Program Manager (TPM) to join our dynamic team. This is a permanent full-time contract position, with a strong preference for candidates based in the UK who can work in a hybrid model (two days a week in either London or Newton office). The role involves leading complex technical programs, interfacing between technology and business teams, and driving the successful delivery of initiatives that replace legacy systems with modern tools.

The Role

As a Technical Program Manager at H&B, you will deliver cross-functional technology programs, influencing and collaborating with engineering teams, product managers, and business colleagues to release new products and features. You will work with cutting-edge technologies including AWS cloud, GitLab CI/CD, and observability tools, playing a pivotal role in managing cloud-based solutions. 

You will have an enormous opportunity to impact the customer experience, design, architecture, and implementation of products in the wellness space, impacting millions of people's lives. You will anticipate bottlenecks, provide escalation management, anticipate and make trade-offs, and balance customer and business needs against technical constraints. Your role will involve maintaining existing products, developing new features, and supporting new product development. 

Key programs include reviewing our observability platform, launching a developer portal and developer platform, and engaging with stakeholders to gain buy-in for team and service performance. You will support multiple squads within the Cloud Platform team, helping manage the product roadmap and facilitating agile ceremonies. 

  • Lead and work effectively with Project Sponsors and Engineering Teams to define and deliver complex features. 
  • Anticipate, identify, assess, track, and mitigate issues and risks at multiple levels. 
  • Create, maintain, and disseminate program information to stakeholders. 
  • Drive effective teamwork, communication, collaboration, and commitment across multiple disparate groups with competing priorities. 
  • Promote and facilitate the adoption of cloud platform tools and services among engineering teams to enhance productivity and performance. 
  • Support multiple squads within the Cloud Platform team, managing the product roadmap and coordinating agile ceremonies. 

The Person

Skills and Experience:

  • Extensive Technical Program Management experience in a related industry.
  • Deep understanding of cloud infrastructure and components, particularly in AWS.
  • Experience in Software Development or Architecture, is essential to building credibility and relationships with engineering teams – specifically cloud computing experience  
  • Proficiency with GitLab CI/CD and observability tools.
  • Ability to articulate complex technology concepts to numerous audiences at multiple levels of the organisation.
  • Extensive experience with agile development methodologies and software development lifecycles.
  • Proven track record in promoting and gaining adoption of cloud platform tools and services within engineering teams.
  • Detail-oriented with a demonstrated ability to self-motivate and follow through on programs.
  • Experience in managing product roadmaps and coordinating agile ceremonies.
