Web and Systems Specialist

THIS ROLE IS NOT FULLY REMOTE BUT HYBRID OPTIONS ARE AVAILABLE. YOU MUST BE ABLE TO COMMUTE TO WESTBURY 2/3 TIMES PER WEEK.

Our client is a well-regarded Marketing Agency, with a heavy focus on the web design/development sector.

They are seeking a Web and Systems Specialist to join their team. This is an exciting opportunity to join them at a pivotal moment and contribute to their continued growth.

You will be responsible for maintaining and supporting client websites and internal platforms while providing technical advice for new projects. This is not a heavy coding role, the focus is on troubleshooting, support, and advising on the best technical approaches for WordPress and related platforms.

You will scope and prepare functional specifications for new website projects, provide accurate estimates to support the sales team, and act as technical oversight on outsourced development work. Alongside client-facing tasks, you will also play a key role in supporting internal systems and ensuring smooth day-to-day operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and support existing client websites (WordPress, WooCommerce, Elementor, and other CMSs).
  • Troubleshoot and resolve website or hosting issues, liaising with hosting providers when required.
  • Support and configure internal platforms
  • Translate client requirements into functional specification documents.
  • Provide accurate estimates and technical reasoning to assist the sales team.
  • Advise on the best approach for implementing website functionality.
  • Act as technical oversight on outsourced development projects.
  • Maintain clear documentation for both client projects and internal systems.
  • Stay up to date with the latest trends and best practices in WordPress, CMS platforms, and hosting environments.

The Experience We Need:

  • Strong knowledge of WordPress with experience maintaining and supporting live websites.
  • Experience with WooCommerce and other common CMS platforms.
  • Good understanding of hosting environments, DNS management, and liaising with hosting providers.
  • Basic coding skills in PHP, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript/jQuery for fixes and adjustments.
  • Experience supporting and configuring internal business systems
  • Ability to translate client requirements into clear functional specifications.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical colleagues and clients.
  • Organised, detail-oriented, and confident, working across multiple tasks and systems.
  • Version control (Git or similar) and familiarity with terminal/SSH (preferred).

£28 - £34k (dependent on experience).
