At Howdens, we're looking for a Junior Governance & Compliance Analyst to join our Governance & Compliance team. This is a fantastic opportunity to develop your skills, work alongside experienced IT professionals, and gain exposure to business-critical systems that support one of the UK's largest trade suppliers.

Whether you've recently completed a degree in IT, Business Information Systems, Supply Chain, Computing, or a related subject or you've gained some relevant experience and are looking for your next challenge we'd love to hear from you.

  • This is a permanent full time opportunity based from our Howden office in East riding of Yorkshire
  • You must live within 60 minutes of us
  • A full UK driving license is required
  • Applicants must have the existing right to work in the UK. This role is not elgible for visa sponsorship.

What you'll be doing

As a Junior Governance & Compliance Analyst, you'll play an important role in supporting and improving the systems used across our business.

You will:

  • Work with colleagues across the business to understand challenges and system requirements
  • Help analyse business processes and identify opportunities for improvement
  • Support the design and delivery of technology solutions
  • Create clear functional specifications for development teams
  • Investigate system issues and help find long-term solutions
  • Support day-to-day service requests and system administration activities
  • Produce user guides, process documentation and training materials
  • Deliver training and support to end users
  • Build relationships with stakeholders, users and external partners
  • Gain hands-on experience with governance systems, compliance systems, and business systems

What we're looking for

We're more interested in your potential, enthusiasm and willingness to learn than years of experience.

You'll ideally have:

  • A degree, apprenticeship or equivalent experience in IT, Technology, Business Systems, Computing, Supply Chain or a related subject
  • A good understanding of technology and how business systems support organisations
  • Strong communication skills and confidence working with different people
  • A curious mindset with a passion for solving problems
  • The ability to learn quickly and adapt to new systems and processes
  • Good organisational skills and attention to detail

Good to have:

  • Knowledge of business processes or supply chain operations
  • Experience troubleshooting software or system issues
  • An understanding of root cause analysis
  • Exposure to SAP, governance, compliance or health & safety systems
