Heading up the business information and digital function for a global leader in aerospace you will be responsible for leading the digital evolution of the organisation by driving business process improvement, operational efficiency, and data-led decision making. As a Business Information Lead / Head of Business Information you will champion continuous improvement to deliver lower costs, improved reliability, and industry-leading performance for key customers.

Key Responsibilities

Digital & Business Transformation

  • Lead large-scale digital and business transformation initiatives across operations, maintenance, and support functions.
  • Drive efficiency improvements by redesigning processes and embedding digital solutions at shop-floor and operational level.
  • Establish governance frameworks to manage complex transformation portfolios and track benefits realisation.

Operational Change Leadership

  • Work closely with production teams to implement practical, sustainable change in live operational environments.
  • Ensure digital solutions align with real-world operational needs and regulatory requirements.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement across teams.

Systems, Data & Architecture

  • Design and maintain robust data architectures that integrate multiple business systems.
  • Lead the development and optimisation of MRO systems (e.g. Envision or equivalent).
  • Enable effective reporting and insight through business intelligence and visualisation platforms.

Stakeholder & Customer Management

  • Act as a key interface between operational teams, IT, and senior leadership.
  • Translate complex business requirements into clear technical specifications.
  • Manage customer expectations, ensuring transparency and alignment with contractual and operational objectives.

Performance & Insight

  • Champion data-driven decision making across the organisation.
  • Use analytics to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for performance improvement.

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Transformation Leadership - Proven experience leading complex transformation programmes and managing governance reviews with senior stakeholders.
  • Industrial Operations Experience - Demonstrable experience delivering significant business change in a production or Maintenance, Repair & Overhaul environment.
  • Strong understanding of shop-floor operations and the realities of implementing change in operational settings.

Technical & Digital Capability

  • Experience designing data structures and integrating multiple enterprise systems.
  • Expert knowledge of Envision or similar MRO systems.
  • Strong experience with BI platforms such as Looker or Oracle APEX.
  • Advanced SQL / PLSQL skills with a strong understanding of data modelling and visualisation.
  • Proven ability to translate business needs into effective digital solutions.
  • Experience working within regulated defence environments.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms, particularly Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and Oracle Cloud Infrastructure.
