Perm: onsite 5 days

An excellent opportunity has arisen for an Electrical Panel Wiring Technician to join a leading engineering and R&D team developing advanced hydraulic testing systems for global customers.

This is a practical, workshop-based role where you will be responsible for assembling and building electrical control panels, enclosures, sub-assemblies and interconnecting cables for special-purpose equipment.

As an electrical panel wiring technician you will have a good understanding of electrical/electronic components, and the ability to work confidently from wiring drawings and schematics while maintaining a very high manufacturing standard.

Key Responsibilities

Electrical Assembly & Wiring

  • Assemble electro-mechanical systems and sub-assemblies from drawings and build procedures
  • Build electrical control panels and enclosures from scratch, including mechanical assembly
  • Drill, tap and fit internal panel components including relays, terminal blocks and power supplies
  • Carry out electrical crimping, soldering, wiring and looming to a high standard
  • Assemble cables, including crimping connectors, cable termination, looming and labelling
  • Work accurately from electrical/electronic drawings, schematics and engineering documentation

Testing & Quality

  • Inspect and test completed electrical assemblies as required
  • Conduct final electrical/electronic inspections and complete associated documentation
  • Maintain high standards of workmanship, accuracy and attention to detail
  • Work to established manufacturing procedures and quality requirements

Installation & Customer Support

  • Support installation and commissioning activities at customer sites when required
  • Represent the company professionally when working with customers
  • Be willing to travel occasionally, including potentially internationally

Qualifications & Experience

  • Experience of panel wiring and/or machine wiring
  • Basic electrical knowledge with the ability to read and work from electrical schematics and engineering drawings
  • Experience wiring control panels/boxes, including crimping, soldering and terminating
  • Experience of electrical loom/harness assembly and soldering to a high standard
  • Practical experience within an engineering, manufacturing or electro-mechanical environment
  • Apprenticeship or equivalent practical/educational background
