Radiology IT Systems (RITS) Administrator

Band 3 - 37.5 hours per week

An opportunity has arisen to join the Radiology IT Systems support team within Radiology. This is an exciting time to join our team as we are working towards replacing the Picture Archiving & Communication System (PACS).

The team supports the Radiology department with a range of administrative tasks and general IT support.

You will be front-line support to the Radiology department, dealing with phone calls, emails and walk in queries.

We are looking for a motivated individual with good communication, IT and organisational skills. You will be required to work across sites, including Castle Hill Hospital, Hull Royal Infirmary, and the Community Diagnostic Centre (Story Street).

Main duties of the job

Your role is to undertake day to day administrative tasks and operations in order to support Radiology systems including the Radiology Information System (RIS) and the Picture Archiving & Communication System (PACS).

This includes performing administrative tasks within our Radiology systems to ensure that:

  • Radiology information is processed in accordance with policies and procedures.
  • Quality and content of data held within PACS, RIS and related information systems is accurate, up to date and maintained.
  • Enquiries from HUTH PACS users are dealt with appropriately and investigated accordingly, providing advice and assistance as required.
  • Provide system functionality training when required, to all levels of Radiology colleagues.
  • Training will be provided.

Essential
  • Educated to GCSE/O level or equivalent standard OR demonstrable equivalent experience
Desirable
  • NVQ 3 in relevant subject

Knowledge, Training & Experience

Essential
  • Experience of using computers in a workplace environment
  • Experience of using electronic information systems
  • Experience of working in a role handling data
  • Experience of working in customer service / call handling environment
  • Experience with a range of IT systems and patient data systems
  • Experience with Microsoft Office
Desirable
  • Experience of working within NHS, preferably within a Radiology department

Communication and Interpersonal Skills

Essential
  • Understanding the Data Protection Act 1998
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills
