Senior Systems Tester

Job summary

We are looking for a motivated and experienced Senior Systems Tester to join Humber Health Partnership. In this key role, you will support the testing of digital systems that underpin patient care and operational services across our hospitals, helping to ensure new developments, upgrades and integrations are safe, reliable and fit for purpose.

You will work closely with developers, suppliers, clinical teams and end users to plan and deliver testing activity, manage defects and support user acceptance testing. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the delivery of high-quality digital services within one of the NHS's largest partnerships.

Main duties of the job

The main duties of the role include:

  • Plan, prepare and execute test scripts for system changes, upgrades, integrations and new digital solutions.

  • Identify, record and track defects, working with internal teams and external suppliers to support timely resolution.

  • Support user acceptance testing by liaising with operational and clinical colleagues, providing guidance and ensuring testing is completed effectively.

  • Develop and maintain automated testing approaches where appropriate to improve efficiency, consistency and coverage.

  • Monitor system quality and testing outcomes, helping to reduce risk and improve the reliability of services used across the organisation.

  • Produce clear documentation, test evidence and reports to support governance, audit and implementation decisions.

  • Contribute specialist advice on testing, quality assurance and release readiness across multiple projects and workstreams.

Job responsibilities

Apply expert system test knowledge across a range of technical systems and processes related to HHP.

Support the development and implementation of the technology solutions that will ensure the services offered through HHP continue to support its health care professionals and staff and improve in terms of quality, accuracy, and customer experience.

Work with a Range of internal and external partners from a diverse range of stake holders such as IT service providers, external data feed partners, and other public services.

Implement automated processes using Robotic Process Automation technologies in order to test systems and the systems they are integrated with and automate business processes within the Trust.

Manage the Quality Assurance Testing of internally and externally developed systems using automated and manual testing techniques in compliance with BS7925-1 and BS7925-2.

Liaise with end users to support User Acceptance Testing.

Person Specification

Education/Qualifications

Essential
  • Educated to degree standard or demonstrable equivalent experience
  • Qualification in Computer Programming
Desirable
  • Evidence of on-going personal development

Knowledge, Training, and Experience

Essential
  • Minimum of three years' experience working in an Information development role or environment analysing complex data using a variety of sources/information systems
  • Specialist I.T. skills and expert user in software and programming tools for developments such as SQL Server Analysis Services, SQL Server Integration Services, Advanced SQL etc
  • Project management
Desirable
  • Understanding of hospital systems such Patient Administration Systems an advantage
  • Proven experience of the line management of staff
  • Knowledge of the NHS Agenda and IT/Information related issues would be an advantage
