Job summary
The post holder should have specialist knowledge of Systems Development Testing and be responsible for assisting in the development, implementation and testing of Clinical systems and reporting tools to provide high quality clinical and management information to end users throughout the Trust. To provide testing support for enhancements of core hospitals systems.
Main duties of the job
- Assist in the provision of specialist knowledge on system development and testing to a range of end users across the Trust
- Assist in the development and implementation of robust systems for the collection of both clinical and management information to aid the smooth running of services and performance management
- Provide training and support on newly developed systems and work with end users on developing enhancements
- Investigate and develop new methods of reporting using the latest programming and analytical methodologies that are available

Education/ Qualifications
- Educated to degree standard or demonstrable 3 years equivalent experience
- Qualification in Computer Programming
- Evidence of on-going personal development
Experience
- Minimum of one year's experience working in an Information Development role or environment analysing complex data using a variety of sources/ information systems
- Ability to set up clinical and non clinical information systems to collect and query/analyse complex patient level data for reporting and audit purposes
- Understanding of hospital systems such as Patient Administration Systems
Skills/ Knowledge and Abilities
- Excellent communication skills.
- Effective organisational and time management skills
- Project management skills
- Specialist I.T. skills and expert user in software and programming tools for developments such as Microsoft Visual Studio 2010, TFS, .Net, C#/VB.Net, ASP.NET.
- Ability to apply analytical skills to complex problem solving in a structured manner
- Ability to test statistical methodology and techniques when analysing complex data and make appropriate recommendations
- An understanding of change management principles and techniques
- Experience of data analysis and interpretation in a clinical environment
- Knowledge of the NHS Agenda and IT/Information related issues would be an advantage
- Familiar with integration solutions e.g. SSIS & Intersystems Health Connect
