Contract Data Analyst

Remote UK | Initial 3-Month Contract | 4 or 5 Days per Week | Potential Extension

Are you a hands-on Data Analyst who enjoys turning complex, imperfect data into clear, actionable insight?

Our client is looking for a Contract Data Analyst to support an exciting stage in their data journey. Working closely with Product and Engineering teams, you'll help assess existing data sources, investigate data quality, build reporting solutions, and deliver insights that support both internal decision-making and customer-facing analytics.

This role would suit someone who is comfortable working in an evolving environment, enjoys solving problems independently, and can quickly identify opportunities to create value from available data.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Using SQL to query, analyse, and investigate data across multiple sources
  • Assessing data quality, reliability, and reporting opportunities
  • Building dashboards, reports, and KPIs for internal stakeholders and customers
  • Partnering with Product and Engineering teams to understand requirements and priorities
  • Translating complex data into practical recommendations and business insights
  • Helping shape the foundations of a growing data capability
  • Supporting decisions around future reporting, analytics, and data initiatives

About You

You'll likely have experience as a Data Analyst, BI Analyst, Reporting Analyst, or Product Data Analyst and be comfortable working with large, incomplete, or complex datasets.

You'll bring:

  • Strong SQL skills
  • Experience creating dashboards, reports, and KPI frameworks
  • Knowledge of BI and visualisation tools (Power BI beneficial)
  • Confidence working across multiple systems and data sources
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
  • A pragmatic, delivery-focused approach to problem-solving

Nice to Have

Experience within SaaS, product-led technology businesses, customer analytics, retail technology, or similar data-rich environments would be advantageous but is not essential.

Technology Environment

The current landscape includes SQL databases, BI tooling, Google Workspace, and Microsoft technologies. The reporting stack is still evolving, providing an opportunity to influence future approaches and tooling decisions.

  • Initial 3-month contract with potential to extend
  • Remote working with occasional meet-ups
  • 4 or 5 days per week considered
