Our client is looking for an experienced General Counsel to lead their legal and compliance function. This is a senior, hands-on role with plenty of visibility across the business and regular interaction with leadership.

You’ll be the go-to for all legal matters, from day-to-day advice through to longer-term strategy, working across a mix of commercial, regulatory, and governance topics in an international setting.

About You

Your background might include:

• Qualification as a lawyer (UK, EU, or Japan)
• Solid experience in corporate, commercial, or regulatory law
• Exposure to cross-border work or international organisations
• An interest in areas like data protection, technology, or digital regulation
• The ability to explain legal concepts clearly to non-legal stakeholders
• Strong drafting and negotiation skills

Any experience working in a tech-led, research-focused, or regulated environment would be helpful, but not essential.
