Senior Software Engineer

A leading financial services organisation is looking for a Senior Java Engineer to join a high-impact technology team working on complex, business-critical platforms. You'll be responsible for building scalable solutions in a highly regulated environment, working closely with technical and business stakeholders while contributing to modern engineering practices and data-driven initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, test and deploy robust Java-based applications across critical technology platforms.
• Work with event-driven architectures and large-scale data, using technologies such as Kafka and streaming frameworks.
• Take ownership of key technical projects, influence design decisions and act as a technical point of escalation.
• Help ensure strong data quality, governance, controls and auditability across business-critical systems.

Requirements

• Strong commercial experience with Java, Spring/Spring Boot and SQL .
• Experience with Kafka and ideally Flink, MongoDB or other NoSQL technologies .
• Background working in financial services, ideally within regulatory reporting, risk, compliance or another highly controlled environment .
• Strong communication skills with the ability to work across engineering, product and business teams.
