eTrading Specialist Tester – FX & Precious Metals

Location: London (3 days onsite)

Contract: Inside IR35

Sector: Investment Banking / Electronic Trading

We are seeking an experienced Front Office eTrading Tester to support a major SmartTrade upgrade within a global banking environment.

The role will focus on testing FX and Precious Metals electronic trading workflows including pricing, liquidity aggregation, distribution, RFQ and algorithmic execution.

This is a specialist front-office eTrading role and candidates must demonstrate hands-on experience within electronic trading environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Execute functional, regression and UAT testing for SmartTrade upgrades
• Test FX eTrading workflows including streaming, RFQ, algo and order routing
• Support test automation initiatives
• Troubleshoot FIX connectivity, market data and trade flow issues
• Work closely with Front Office Trading, Product and Development teams
• Support release validation and production readiness
• Ensure testing aligns with MiFID II RTS 6 controls and governance

Required Experience

• Strong Front Office electronic trading testing experience
• Proven experience within FX and/or Precious Metals eTrading
• Knowledge of:
• FIX Protocol
• Liquidity aggregation and distribution
• Algorithmic trading workflows
• Low latency trading environments
• Experience with vendor or proprietary eTrading platforms
• Ability to analyse logs, investigate issues and validate trade flows

Highly Desirable

• SmartTrade experience
• Experience with LSEG / Refinitiv Electronic Trading
• Exposure to Python, Java or scripting for test automation
• Understanding of MiFID II RTS 6 obligations
