Senior PLC Engineer Our client is seeking a Senior PLC Engineer to support the development of control strategies and software for engine, hybrid and electric vehicles used in airport ground support applications. The successful candidate will enjoy working across complex vehicle systems, from electronic control units and motors to autonomous technologies, diagnostics and remote monitoring. Based in Dungannon, this is a permanent, site based role involving collaboration across engineering, workshop and field environments. The position offers practical involvement in prototype vehicle development, system integration and vehicle level testing. Lead sophisticated control system development for engine, hybrid and electric vehicles. The Role: * Develop functional software specifications and software architecture using CoDeSys or Danfoss Plus 1. * Define electronic systems and select suitable hardware platforms. * Integrate ECU communication, diagnostics and remote monitoring capabilities. * Apply model based design, rapid prototyping and Simulink control systems. * Conduct SIL, HIL and vehicle level testing, including fault insertion and functional validation. * Support multiple projects, prepare software project time plans and maintain technical documentation. * Use tools including MATLAB, Simulink, Stateflow, Vector CANalyzer and CANfox. The Person: * Degree qualified in electronic engineering, software engineering or a related discipline, or equivalent experience. * At least five years of experience in system engineering or software development within Tier 1 or OE sectors. * Experience taking electronic systems from concept through to delivery. * Proficiency in CoDeSys, MATLAB, Simulink and Stateflow. * Understanding of functional safety, CAN, Ethernet and CANopen communication protocols. * Experience of HIL and SIL testing, design verification and project delivery. * Comfortable working in workshops and field environments on prototype vehicle development.
