Head of Engineering & Platform
We are looking for a hands-on Head of Engineering & Platform to lead how technology is designed, built, and operated. This is a senior leadership role for an experienced engineer who wants to remain close to the technology while shaping architecture, standards, and delivery across the organisation.
You will lead Software Engineering, Platform & Infrastructure, and Service Desk teams as a single, integrated function, with accountability for technical decisions, system quality, and production performance. This is not a purely strategic role - you will stay involved in technical design, complex delivery work, and critical problem-solving.
You will own technical roadmaps, treat technology as a product rather than a project, and work closely with stakeholders to build systems that scale, evolve, and improve over time. You will also oversee platforms, tooling, automation, and operational support, using real-world system behaviour to drive continuous improvement.
Key Requirements
Strong hands-on experience in a .NET environment
Technical credibility across C#, SQL-based data stores, Azure, and Azure DevOps
Proven experience leading engineering teams while remaining technically engaged
Confidence making clear technical decisions in complex, evolving environments
