Project and Systems Accountant

This is an exciting new opportunity for a Project and Systems Accountant to support the Head of Finance of a rapidly expanding global service provider located in Glasgow
The Role:
The appointment will oversee all Finance Systems management requirements across Microsoft D365. They will support the end-to-end process review, data rationalisation, cleansing & conversion, system configuration and testing activities, test script preparation, creation of training and both provision of training and train the trainer as well as creation and review of reporting on the journey to optimise both system and process to drive an effective and scalable Finance org.
Responsibilities:
- The successful candidate will be responsible for key project activities as well as process enhancements activities, system build and maintenance across D365 finance modules. The execution of these tasks must be accomplished in a manner which is business supportive but is focused on ensuring alignment with and execution of vision, purposes and to meet and exceed performance targets
- This role is predominantly to cover all aspects of finance activity – ensure all month end close, operational, controls and core accounting and finance function tasks can be completed efficiently in the system, be conscious of the control environment and highlight any potential risks. You will be critical in the design and build of all finance related set ups and any future enhancement required in line with business needs
- The role requires a forward thinking, task orientated, leader with excellent knowledge of RTR processes and the ability to work well with multiple teams
- Working on and supporting the Change Management process in addition to open communication at all levels are key elements as well as being an integral member of the Finance Effectiveness and Efficiency transformation team
- The successful candidate will become the subject matter expert for Finance Systems and MI and be integral to both the successful implementation of all projects, enhancements and ensuring effective system management and maintenance is in place across Finance.
You will have:
- Extensive knowledge of finance business process and system management and maintenance.
- System focused finance professional.
- In depth system configuration knowledge of the following:
- Microsoft D365 Finance & Operations
- Power BI
- Working knowledge on how systems interlink, and data flow is achieved throughout financial systems.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, able to communicate financial matters to non-technical experts
- Strong analytical skills with previous experience required in creating and writing commentary for management
- Strong command over MS Excel (Advanced) is desirable
- Previous management experience desirable but not essential
- Project leading skills and people management will be important
- Resourceful, with excellent communication skills and good attention to detail
- Ensuring tasks are completed in a timely and effective manner by prioritising his/her own work
- Support Finance teams across Fin Ops as system SME
- Ability to prioritise workloads with minimal supervision
- Demonstrated track record of collaborative working within a shared service environment
- Strong individual experience in reporting and interacting with management
Skills & Knowledge
- Self-starter, disciplined, and detail oriented with ability to work independently in a high volume environment that requires a work product that is highly accurate and timely.
- High degree of proficiency with Microsoft Office software (Excel, MS Word).
- Preferable experience of systems implementation and business transformation
Qualifications
- CIMA/ACCA/ACA qualified Accountant or equivalent, or qualified by experience
