Role Title: ICON Payment Framework (IPF) Developer

Location: Knutsford

Contract Length: 3 months

Onsite Requirement: 2-3 days per week

Day Rate: £500 (Inside IR35)

Seeking a skilled ICON Payment Framework (IPF) Developer with strong Java expertise to join our Payments Technology team. This role is focused on delivering high-performance, scalable payment solutions on the Finastra ICON/IPF platform, ensuring compliance with regulatory and industry standards.

Key Responsibilities

Solution Development

• Design and develop payment solutions using ICON Payment Framework (IPF) and Java.
• Customise and extend IPF modules to meet evolving business and regulatory needs.
• Integrate ICON with core banking, fraud/AML systems, and payment channels (SWIFT, SEPA, FPS, CHAPS).

Technical Delivery

• Participate in the full SDLC from requirements to production.
• Write clean, maintainable code aligned to best practices.
• Perform unit, integration, and user acceptance testing; support production deployments.

Collaboration & Support

• Partner with Business Analysts, Architects, QA, and DevOps teams to deliver high-quality outcomes.
• Provide Level 3 support for ICON and payment-related issues.
• Engage in code reviews, design discussions, and technical workshops.

Compliance & Governance

• Ensure all solutions meet security, risk, and regulatory standards (PSD2, ISO 20022, etc.).
• Maintain documentation and contribute to team knowledge sharing.

Required Skills & Experience

• 5+ years' Java development experience within financial services.
• 2+ years hands-on with Finastra ICON Payment Framework (IPF).
• Strong knowledge of payment systems and messaging (SWIFT, ISO 20022, SEPA, FPS, CHAPS).
• Experience with Spring Boot, REST APIs, JMS, SQL/Oracle.
• Familiarity with CI/CD, Git, JIRA, and Agile environments.
• Strong problem-solving ability and resilience in regulated, fast-paced settings.
