Salesforce Developer / Application Engineer
Financial Services Cloud | Data Cloud / Data 360 | Marketing Cloud
Location: London, Liverpool or Glasgow
Hybrid: 2 days per week onsite
Our client is re-platforming its end-to-end client lifecycle onto Salesforce Financial Services Cloud and evolving its marketing and client engagement architecture.
We’re looking for a Salesforce Developer / Application Engineer to join the team and play a key role in building, supporting and enhancing Salesforce solutions across Financial Services Cloud, Data Cloud / Data 360 and Marketing Cloud Engagement.
This is primarily a hands-on Salesforce engineering role, but with a strong focus on enabling compliant, data-driven client engagement.
You’ll work closely with Product, Marketing, Business Analysis, UX and technical leadership to deliver scalable Salesforce solutions that support campaign activation, nurture journeys, segmentation and personalised client communications.
What you’ll be doing
You’ll be responsible for:
- Building and enhancing Salesforce solutions using both declarative configuration and programmatic development.
- Developing functionality using Lightning Web Components, Flows, SOQL/SOSL and integrations.
- Supporting client engagement use cases across campaigns, audience management, targeting, lifecycle journeys and content delivery.
- Helping ensure marketing activity is supported by accurate CRM data, preferences, consent and compliant suppression logic.
- Contributing to the evolution from Marketing Cloud Engagement toward Marketing Cloud Next / Advanced.
- Supporting Data Cloud / Data 360 use cases including data ingestion, mapping, harmonisation, identity resolution, segmentation and activation.
- Building and supporting integrations between Salesforce, Data Cloud and marketing platforms using APIs and agreed integration patterns.
- Participating in testing, releases and deployments using Copado.
- Troubleshooting defects and production issues across Salesforce, FSC and marketing/activation functionality.
- Contributing to documentation and knowledge sharing as the platform moves toward long-term in-house ownership.
What we’re looking for
We’re keen to speak with Salesforce professionals who have:
- Strong hands-on Salesforce development experience in complex environments.
- Solid experience with LWC, Flows, SOQL/SOSL and Salesforce integrations.
- Experience with Financial Services Cloud or similarly complex Salesforce data models.
- Practical experience with Marketing Cloud Engagement, ideally from a technical, data or integration perspective.
- Experience supporting campaigns, nurture journeys, segmentation, content delivery and consent-driven communications.
- Working knowledge of Salesforce Data Cloud / Data 360, including ingestion, unified data models, identity resolution, segmentation and activation.
- Experience working in Agile, product-led teams.
- CI/CD experience, ideally with Copado.
- Salesforce Platform Developer I certification, or working toward it.
Experience in financial services, wealth management or regulated environments would be highly beneficial, as would exposure to Marketing Cloud Next / Advanced and Data Cloud configuration.
This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys hands-on Salesforce development but also wants to work across modern client engagement, data activation and marketing technology within a regulated financial services environment.
