Settlements Business Analyst
My client is seeking an experienced Settlements Business Analyst to work across their trading and operations functions, helping bridge the gap between technology teams, third-party providers, and business stakeholders. This role is critical to ensuring the successful setup and connectivity of a new trading desk and the design of robust settlements processes before handover to BAU operations teams.You will play a key role in requirements gathering, process design, and testing, working closely with technology partners and external vendors to deliver front-to-back trade lifecycle solutions.Key Responsibilities Act as the bridge between business, technology, and third-party vendors to ensure seamless integration of settlements processes.Define and document end-to-end trade lifecycle workflows (trade capture through to settlement).Gather and translate business requirements into functional and technical specifications (BRDs/FRDs).Support the connectivity and integration between trading platforms, settlement systems, and external clearing/custody providers (e.g., Euroclear, Clearstream, CREST).Design and implement target operating models (TOM) for settlements processes, ensuring scalability and efficiency.Partner with technology teams to support system configuration, data mapping, and UAT.Engage stakeholders across Front Office, Middle Office, and Operations to align on requirements and ensure readiness for BAU handover.Identify and manage risks, issues, and dependencies across systems and teams.Support testing strategy (UAT, SIT, regression) to validate process flows and system changes.Provide training, documentation, and knowledge transfer to BAU teams.Experience & Skills Required Proven experience as a Business Analyst within settlements / post-trade operations in investment banking, asset management, or capital markets.Strong understanding of trade lifecycle management across multiple asset classes (e.g., equities, fixed income, FX, derivatives).Hands-on experience in clearing and settlement connectivity (e.g., Euroclear, Clearstream, CREST, DTCC).Prior involvement in new desk setup, platform implementations, or front-to-back transformation projects.Excellent knowledge of reconciliation, confirmations, and cash/securities settlement processes.Exposure to settlements platforms/systems (e.g., Calypso, Murex, SimCorp, Broadridge, SmartStream).Strong BA toolkit: business requirements gathering, process mapping, gap analysis, UAT/test planning, stakeholder engagement.
Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies and tools (e.g., JIRA, Confluence).Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, able to engage Front Office, Operations, Technology, and external vendors.
