User Experience Designer

Product Owner & UX/UI Designer

📍 Paddington (Sheldon Square) or Reading – 2 days onsite (Weds + 1)

đź’° +- ÂŁ500 per day (Umbrella)

đź“… Contract until August 2026

We are supporting our client on a key hire within their Consumer Digital eCommerce team.

This role sits within a small, high-impact squad focused on optimising the online shop, improving acquisition and upgrade journeys across devices, SIM-only and accessories.

This is not a low-fidelity wireframing role.

We are looking for someone who can design high-fidelity, production-ready Figma outputs, build clickable prototypes for stakeholder playback and customer testing, and confidently explain the thinking behind every design decision.

What You Will Be Doing:

  • Designing end-to-end eCommerce journeys (discovery → configuration → checkout → payment)
  • Creating high-fidelity Figma designs ready to hand to engineering
  • Building fully interactive prototypes (mobile-style click-through flows, add-to-basket journeys, payment interactions, etc.)
  • Working closely with Product Managers and CRO Engineers to optimise conversion
  • Using customer research and tools like UserZoom to validate decisions
  • Presenting designs to senior stakeholders and managing feedback
  • Balancing commercial KPIs (conversion, AOV, attachment rate) with user experience
  • Operating within an Agile / Scrum squad (3-person core team)

Must Have:

Proven high-fidelity Figma UX & UI experience (components, auto-layout, design systems, prototyping)

Ability to walk through your Figma work in detail at interview

Strong eCommerce / transactional website experience (large-scale preferred)

Experience conducting or using customer research

Confidence managing stakeholders and presenting design rationale

Nice to Have:

  • Telco experience
  • User flow mapping
  • A/B testing exposure
  • Experience working in cross-functional Scrum teams

What Success Looks Like:

You’re someone who:

  • Can take an ambiguous brief and turn it into a creative, conversion-focused solution
  • Builds polished designs — not rough concepts for someone else to finish
  • Understands commercial impact, not just aesthetics
  • Can clearly explain the “why” behind every design decision

Important

Please include:

  • A portfolio link (if available)
  • Examples of high-fidelity Figma work
  • Details of eCommerce brands you’ve worked with (especially if agency-based)
  • A brief explanation of how you’ve used prototyping in past projects

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a major digital optimisation programme, driving measurable commercial impact across a high-traffic platform.

If you have genuine hands-on Figma expertise and strong eCommerce journey experience, we’d love to speak.
